Proceed with caution. ☠ There are lots of myths out there that realtors get chased around by. Funny thing is, these narratives are often created inside the mind of the realtor…therefore KILLING their chance of increasing their income and productivity. Top producers are those whom have overcome the labyrinth of fake excuses and monsters. Here are the 3 “Mythological Beasts That Are Killing Realtors Every Day”: ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ 🚩1. “I’m Too Busy” Beast 🕓🕓- This one is a giant. If you’re a realtor and you feel too busy, there’s a good chance its because you are doing the WRONG thing with 80% of your professional activity…don’t even get me started on your personal activity. After coaching hundreds of realtors and having interacted with thousands, I’ve seen all the patterns there are to see. I’ve heard all of the objections. I know all the common pains. So let me hit you straight between the eyes on this first mythological beast. ->Saying that you’re too busy means that you haven’t spent enough time doing the HARD WORK of prioritizing.<- For example, if you’re too busy for lead generation activities, box your license up and ship it off. You won’t be needing it you can’t generate leads. Lead generation is quite literally the ONLY THING YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO SCREW UP. It is the egg that hatches the chicken people. Your commission checks will dry up like a saharan sports park if you don’t get your mind right and prioritize lead generation. More than that, you can’t even begin to prioritize lead generation if you don’t even have the required skills to do it. When is the last time you actually LEARNED a new skill? You need to get your calendar out right now and block off two things: personal development time(go learn a new lead generation skill) and lead generation time. Procrastinating on it? Guess what…usually, the very thing you are procrastinating is normal the VERY THING you can’t afford to push away any longer. Take action and get your priorities straight now, or fail. 🚩2. “The Slot Machine Mentality” Beast 🎰- Wanna know why 87% of realtors fail? That frightful statistic comes from a lack of two things: #1. Not viewing your business as a business #2. Not dominating at least ONE form of lead generation on a predictable, scalable level. 🎰🎰 Month after month, are you just pulling the crank hoping for triple 7’s? Hoping the ole slot machine will accidentally spit out 4-6 closings? You’re just hoping new customers will call you. Or you’re hoping someone sees your silly organic Facebook post. Or you’re hoping your broker sends you a few lay down leads you don’t have to work for. Or you hoping your mortgage partner will tee up a lead for you. Or you’re hoping that money will just grow on the tree out back. Whatever it is that you’re waiting on…whatever you are doing randomly hoping that it will creates better results, its not working. It won’t work. Your current results are from the efforts of your current behavior. Acquire a new skill. Learn how to BUY CUSTOMERS. That is the mark of a true business. Start with learning how to buy leads. Do you know how to predictable buy leads? 🚩3. “Those Are Weak Leads” Beast - This is one of my favorites. If you’re the person who says that “all those leads are bad” in regards to a certain platform, you need help. Lots of it. The leads are not weak. You simply don’t know how to convert them or haven’t deployed the patience necessary to nurture them into a relationship. Also, you gotta understand batting averages. Babe Ruth, nor any other baseball superstar got a hit at every at bat. They played the numbers with their skill. They knew that 30% success would outperform 95% of their competitors. View lead generation the same way…you can’t close them all tomorrow..but you sure can nurture them because they are your exclusive lead. ➡If a human, lets say a home buyer, goes so far as to give you their Name, Email, Cell Phone and mailing address…that’s a qualified lead. But if you don’t understand the psyche of an inbound lead based on the platform it came from, you’ll never convert it. Wanna know why? Because you don’t know how to nurture it. Maybe you are used to the lay down referral leads that you got punch drunk on. Guess what, they require no skill to close. Only hand holding AFTER they’ve chosen you as their realtor. ⚠⚠You can’t scale your business on referrals. Stop listening to real estate coaches and old school brokers!⚠⚠ But if you’re generating online leads of any kind, 80% of your sales will come from follow up contact #5-#12. 80%! I know what you’re saying. “But I always follow up.” No you don’t. You think you do, but you aren’t even getting close to being in the 80% top producer world. You are throwing a couple of volleys out there after the lead is generating and then you bow to the mythological beast mentioned above and simply mark them as “bad”. That’s not top producer mentality. They’re not bad leads. Learn how to work a sales pipeline and you’ll not only rise above the 87% failure rate, but you’ll also excel to the top 5% of producers in the real estate sales force. In closing, lead generation is about numbers and skill. The law of large numbers is what you have to leverage so that you can work smarter, not harder.
